On every high point in Westwoods there is one, sometimes two or three, rarely more, round stones.

Westwoods in Guilford CT mineralogy is pretty cut up literally speaking. Interesting to hike and climb on, great to ride through and huck your mountain bike off of.

Much of the land served as a quarry in the 19th century, and most likely earlier. Indians are believed to have made carvings as well, though for land development reasons, I suppose, I cannot find much about “pre-stonehouse” Guilford. Fact is, it was occupied for as many as 20,000  or more years. Now, the people that lived here, had to leave something behind. While I’m no archeologist, I have made many observations and seen some interesting enigmas on the rocks in Westwoods.

I don’t think what I see is natural, but I have never heard of anyone studying these rocks for their historic significance. If, by chance someone chooses to do so, please let me know.
